Packaged Terminal Air Conditioners (PTAC) and Packaged Terminal Heat Pumps (PTHP) installed in California and across the country outnumber all other HVAC systems combined. They are self-contained HVAC systems commonly found in hotels, motels, apartments, condos, schools, medical facilities and offices nationwide. Installation of PTAC SAVER represents a cost effective measure to reduce energy consumption by these HVAC industry workhorses.
eco-TPTX is a moisture proof, potted PCBA with a combination of proprietary software, firmware and circuitry called Smart Fan Technology (SFT). SFT is designed to optimize PTAC efficiency of operation through intervening control of system component activity. Subtle influences on system activity, in both heating and cooling modes, result in substantial savings in PTAC operating cost usually ranging from 10-20+%.
PTAC/PTHP units, until recently, have been manually operated at the Control Panel via buttons and /or dials. The user simply sets the mode of operation to heat or cool and the fan level from low to high.
eco-TPTX product development engineers have taken SFT for PTACs to a new level. PTX is compatible in ALLPTACs with wired or unwired thermostat interface. Installation takes as little as five minutes and does not require working with high voltage connections. PTX has two sets of matching connectors and require no specialized skills to install. It’s “plug and play”.
To install:
That’s it! PTX is connected directly to the PTAC base module. The PTAC base receiver is connected to PTX for reception of signals from the thermostat interface. Those signals are passed on to PTX, optimized with SFT and sent on to the PTAC.
PTX settings for PTAC performance are adjusted in accordance with regional energy efficiency measure criteria in both heating and cooling modes. PTX includes external bypass switches for cooling / heating modes in certain weather conditions.
